for the Position of Controller at the University of Liberia
The
Controller will be an experienced accountant, transparent
in his/her operations. As the chief business and financal
officer for the University of Liberia, he/she is responsible
for the management and supervision of all financial, budgetary
and related activities of the University and shall ensure
the maintenance of adequate records of all assets, liabilities
and transactions of a financial nature.
The
Controller will work closely with the President of the University
in advising on all matters related to the fiscal operation
and administration of the University, including the allocation
and utilization of funds. The Controller will help formulate
policies and procedures and institute the necessary controls
regarding fiscal functions including investment, capital budgeting,
long-range financial planning, purchasing, accounting operational
budgeting, inventories, equipment and supplies. The Controller
will be responsible for the preparation of financial reports
as required by the President, Board of Trustees, the Government
of Liberia, and other institutions.
Qualifications:
1)
Must be a Liberian.
2. Must hold a minimum of a Masters Degree in Accounting from
an accredited institution.. Being a CPA will be an advantage.
3.
Must have worked at a senior financial administrative or management
level in a university or a comparable organization for a minimum
of seven years.
4.
Have a working knowledge of modern accounting software.
The

for managing the finances of the university.

for the Position of Vice President for Administration at the
University of Liberia
The successful candidate for the Vice President for Administration
of the University of Liberia will be a skilled and experienced
manager, a dynamic leader and a person-oriented administrator
who will seek the welfare of faculty, staff and students of
the University at all times. The Vice President for Administration
will work in close consultation with the President of the
University in executing the administrative affairs at the
three campuses of the University.
In
particular, the Vice President for Administration is responsible
for the management and supervision of the support services
of the University, including but not limited to procurement,
personnel, and general services. The Vice President for Administration
coordinates with the Vice President for Academic Affairs to
ensure the efficient implementation of the University's academic
programs. The Vice President for Administration works closely
with the Controller to ensure that funds are available for
the execution of these services.
QUALIFICATIONS
1.
Candidate must be a Liberian.
2.
Must hold a minimum of a Masters Degree from an accredited
university (A PhD will be an advantage)
3. Have worked at a senior administrative or management level
at a University or comparable organization for a minimum of
seven years.
4..Have provided some service to Liberia at home or abroad.
5.
Have outstanding leadership and managerial and administrative
skills.
6. Have an appreciation of the culture and operating environment
of a university in a post-conflict society.
As
